A Big Pizza Shaped Like a Little Pizza

Sev and I were staying at  a friend's place in Torreon for our last week in Mexico. We were wandering around the downtown area when we were suddenly struck with hunger. It was a pizza emergency.

So Apple Maps really is the worst and consistently has brought me to places that no longer exist or are not open during the stated times. This again happened as I was searching out pizza places nearby, leading me to finally download Google Maps.

As Apple Maps had failed us yet again and we were too hungry to search out another spot, we went to a nearby alternate pizza location next to which seemed like it was okay. It was right next door to the Teatro Isauro Martinez, the biggest and prettiest theatre in town. The vibe was definitely right and it was amazing to be in air conditioning after a couple of hours of walking around in 90+ degree temperature.

Feeling conservative, we got the pepperoni and cheese. We were amused that it came out in the shape of a giant slice of pizza. But disappointed that it didn't taste very good. There wasn't really enough sauce and the cheese was kind of hard and too greasy. We still ate it because we were hungry, but definitely would not recommend. It at least wasn't very expensive, about $10 for the whole thing. But our friends were cooking excellent food for us every day at their home so maybe we were spoiled into expecting the same high quality from the pizza place.

We told our friends later and they agreed the pizza here is not very good, but did say it was a great place to go for drinks. Maybe next time.

Haha. I definitely had to read the title twice! An interesting concept for sure.
