A Sensible Choice for a Bernese Hotel

Bry and I had big plans to visit the Top of Europe. We wanted to be on the first train up at 7am to maximize our time on the mountain and beat the crowds.
Catching that train from Zurich is not possible and we wanted to check out Bern anyway, so decided to stay the night in Switzerland’s charming pseudo-capital.
We found Kreuz Bern Modern City Hotel to be a convenient budget-friendly option.
Location:
First off, the location is perfect. It’s right in old town but still only a 10 minute walk to the train station.
Price:
The price was very reasonable at just 125 CHF, including a free breakfast. You can’t do much better than that for this location.
Room:
My room was quite small but cozy, I like the old-fashion map on the wall and also the inclined ceiling, which made it feel extra old-timey.
Amenities:
We left too early (before 6am) for the free breakfast, but they had a coffee and tea station we took advantage of. There was also a gym, office space, game room, and a rooftop!
Overall:
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to my readers. Bry and I both give it five snacks.
