An Inn with Qualities

I find the name "Quality Inn" interesting. Everything has qualities, good, bad, somewhere in between. So the Quality Inn brand exists in this ambiguous space. What qualities would we find here? There was only one way to find out.
We stayed at the Quality Inn for two nights this week. My mom happened to be staying there as well so Sev and I thought it'd be fun to be in the same place. We weren't huge fans of this budget hotel for a number of reasons, although it did have some redeeming...qualities.
Number one reason we didn't like it was the rooms smelled like some kind of chemical spray. My uncle, who also stayed for one night, had to air out his room. We should have too but we were too lazy. But it did not smell very good at all. The hallways also weren't very clean and were kind of dingy.
Some things we did like; the employees were all very nice, accommodating, and friendly. The breakfast was okay, with one of those waffle makers which is always fun. They also had some breakfast sandwiches, a range of coffee, tea, and juice, hardboiled eggs, and cereal. The dining area was pretty spacious and generally clean. There was also a pool but we didn't use it.
At $80 a night including tax, I'm not sure you're really getting what you pay for at Quality Inn. There are probably a lot of other hotels around the same price (including Hostel Buffalo Niagara) that are more interesting/nice. But I guess if you're just traveling on the high way and need to sleep somewhere, you could sleep here?
