Artificial Cloud

It’s pretty hot in Zurich this summer and Sev read a story about an “artificial cloud” that was constructed on Turbinenplatz, near the Hardbrucke station. We had some free time one afternoon so decided to check it out.

As you can see, the artificial cloud is water misters formed in a circle that mist continuously. You can’t actually feel the mist really from the ground and it provides no shade. It does sort of give the appearance of a cloud and also kind of looks cool. Apparently this installation will be up for three years.

Turbinenplatz is really in need of a cool down area as there aren’t many big trees but I don’t think this artificial cloud is really working as anything other than an art installation. I guess if you’re in the area it’s worth looking at. I give it 2 snacks for looking cool and being better than nothing.
