Near Nydri there’s a popular waterfall tourists and locals visit for a nice walk and swimming. We went during a half-day trip visit to Nydri.

It wasn’t exactly the greatest waterfall of our lives but it was a pleasant diversion and walk to end our afternoon.

We also went in mid-September, a dryer season where many of the waterfalls are not active. May and June have better waterfall action.

The main waterfall at the end was still going though when we visited and provided a good swimming opportunity.

Getting There

It is not advisable to walk to the waterfalls from Nydri. We took our moped and followed the many signs pointing the way to the waterfalls, along a paved road leading into a small parking lot.

The trail there is clearly marked and passes a cute cafe. We didn’t eat there but it looked very fun.

The walk is about 10-15 minutes to the waterfall.

The Waterfall

This was quite a pretty waterfall and easy to access for a little swim. The water was too cold for me so I didn’t feel like it, but other tourists were swimming happily. I think on a hot day this would be a very refreshing swim.

Sev and I dipped our toes in and took some nice nature photos, and then headed back.

Overall

I wouldn’t necessarily consider the waterfall a must-do. But this was an easy side trip, especially combined with Lefkada Micro Farm or other Nydri activities.

After so many days on the beach or in cities, it was nice to see a change of scenery.
