Sev and I wanted to do something other than drink in Munich and thought a comedy show might be fun. We went to EineWeltHaus to see Chris Doering, a Berlin-based English-language comedian. I’ve never heard of him before but apparently he’s been around.

Chris. Chris.

Tickets were 12 EUR pre-sale and 20 EUR at the door, which I did not know until I got there. Whoops. At least it came with a free shot.

EineWeltHaus is like a nonprofit focused on bringing people together. Their building is pretty humble and plain but the room managed to sit about 100 people.

Doors opened at 8pm and the show was supposed to start at 8:30, but started a little bit later.

Chris’ style of comedy seemed to hinge on asking the audience a bunch of questions and then responding to answers in a humorous manner. Some of the jokes were a bit tiresome but others were quite funny.

He had some bangers and then spent about 20 minutes after the hour-long show to do a real Q&A with the audience where he discussed his career and writing process. I thought that was pretty interesting since I don’t know much about the comedy industry.

It wasn’t the greatest comedy of my life but overall I thought it was a fun way to spend a Saturday night. Would recommend checking out EineWeltHaus or other English-language comedy in Munich—just make sure to buy your tickets before you arrive!

Sitting around before the show starts. Sitting around before the show starts.
