There are a lot of great cafes in Villa de Leyva. One that stuck out to us was Casadulce, located right across the street from the Iglesia de El Carmen church. We probably went here about four times for lunch time snacks during our two weeks in town.

Casadulce had a variety of options and we snacked many of them, always with a cappuccino. I don’t like sweet food normally, so my go-to was the maracuya (passion fruit) pie, which is somewhat tart. Sev liked the cheese caks. Colombian coffee in general was high quality and Casadulce’s was no exception.

You can dine in the front room, which is completely open on one side to the street and church, or go to the dimly lit back room, which has an old-timey tavern like atmosphere. We found both options to be quite cozy.

One problem is I found the bathroom lights to be a bit difficult to locate, so if you have to visit there you might be mostly in the dark.

For location, price, variety, and taste, Casadulce is an easy five snacks.
