Coffee Liquor Stop

We were visiting Stein am Rhein in early January, it was pretty cold and we did a lot of walking. A coffee stop was absolutely necessary. Bistrot Tavolino is right in the main part of the old town and looked good enough so we went in.
It’s a charming little place and the guy working the counter asked if he could eat for five minutes first before he took our order—very reasonable! But when he realized we just wanted to have coffee he made our drinks right away.
Bry got the Cafe Grappa, which is espresso and an Italian liquor for about 8.50CHF. Neither of us had it before but it was very, very strong despite not taking up much volume.
I got the Ovomaltine (4CHF), which is a hot chocolate-like drink popular in Switzerland. It was quite nice! Both drinks came with these very tasty almond-flavored cookies, which we were obsessed with.
I was a bit suspish of the cafe because of it’s central location, I thought it might be too touristy. But it was great and reasonably priced and the people working there were really nice. Worth stopping by if you need a quick pick-me-up!
