Sev and I met at a Selina so we have a great affection for the brand. While the full coliving package was out of our budget for this trip, we were pleased that we could use the Selina cowork for just 10 EUR a day while we were in Athens.

We worked here for three days and recommend it to fellow digital nomads.

Neighborhood

The location is about a 12 minute walk from the Ancient Agora, in an area that might be described as a Chinatown, with many nearby east and south Asian restaurants and shops.

It’s a great place to go for nightlife, shopping, and visiting a few of the main tourist attractions.

Price and Amenities

It cost 10 EUR a day for the cowork, which closes at 10pm. 12 EUR will get you a designated desk, and you can pay more for bigger spaces.

Also included is coffee, which you make yourself, and telephone booths you can use to have private phone or video calls. There’s also a free printer!

Space

The office spaces looked a lot like other Selina cowork I’ve seen, hip, stylish, and congenial. I liked working here.

The building also lends easy access to a rooftop restaurant and cafe, with fantastic views of the city.

We ate here once, I got the avocado toast (9 EUR) and Sev got the shakshuka (10 EUR). I have to say avocado toast does not seem to work in Greece. This is the second place that had avocado-flavored paste instead of real fresh avocado and I did not like it.

Sev enjoyed his shakshuka though and we both liked the coffee. The view was also absolutely fantastic.

Overall

The price is very reasonable, the internet was good, and it was mostly a quiet place to concentrate and work. It’s in a great location and there are good restaurant options nearby.

However, there were some communication problems regarding the cowork “lounge,” which you have to book and costs extra. There is no sign indicating this and multiple people were told to leave the lounge throughout the day for not having the correct reservation (me and Sev included).

The free coffee also didn’t taste very good, and there were a few really cool important people taking loud calls discussing their business plans, which was annoying but probably nothing can be done about it.

We give the Selina Athens Theatrou cowork a solid four snacks.
