Dining in an Old Ship Building Hall

I've passed the "schiffbau"—a building where ships were once built—in Zurich-West multiple times and was intrigued as to what it looked like inside. There are multiple venues inside, including a theatre, a jazz club, and LaSalle restaurant. We decided to go to LaSalle, and had a great experience.
LaSalle runs inside a glass box that's also inside the schiffbau building. We really liked the vibe which successfully combined upscale dining and urban industry. I got the grilled salmon ($45) and it was amazing.
The presentation wasn't great—I didn't like the three wrinkly potatoes and the bright green ring around the sauce, but it tasted so good. One of the best salmons I've ever had. It was crispy and flavorful and I enjoyed it immensely. The spinach, potatoes, and even the little cherry tomato on top were also great and everything combined really nicely.
Sev had the meat loaf ($37). He said "making a good meatloaf is really hard to do, but they managed to do it. The meatloaf was neither too dry or too fatty. The sauce was also really good—a little bit salty but not too salty. Overall the food quality was excellent, but would I pay $40 for it again? No."
We also each had a Stange beer ($10) and a bottle of mineral water ($5). It all adds up fast but it did at least taste good. And when you compare it to just any average lunch in Zurich ($25-30) it's really not that much more.
I did have a weird experience where the waitress kept referring to me as "lady" which felt odd. But I can't really blame people for not speaking perfect English. She was otherwise rather attentive and nice. One thing that seemed really strange though was this tooth pick holder that had some garbage straw wrappers inside (???) seemed a little McDonald's-tier for the price.
Like Sev, I'd probably prefer to check out other places than retry LaSalle for the time being, but I could see a trip to this restaurant as a part of a nice night out in Zurich-West. I hope to check out the schiffbau jazz club next!
