Dining on the Pier
30 May 2022 by Amby
Sharky’s is the best known destination restaurant in Venice because it’s located directly next to the water and the Venice pier, where people can fish or enjoy the nice views. The food itself is pricey but reasonably good and seemingly healthy.
Sev and I popped over to Sharky’s for lunch. Unfortunately there was an hour-long wait for outdoor dining but we got seated indoors immediately. Indoors is a little less exciting.
The seafood is fresh so a lot of things had “market price” on them. The market price mahi mahi taco I ordered was $25. It was okay but definitely made me nostalgic for similar tacos that were tastier for a fraction of the price in Costa Rica. Still, in a country known for sweet and over-processed food, this was a nice reprieve.
Sev had a rice bowl with chicken ($15) and a coke.
We finished the food pretty quickly and then head to the pier for a walk. It looked really good! I have to say I think our whole experience would have been elevated if we could’ve eaten outdoors.
For ambiance in Venice Sharky’s really can’t be beaten, but for us, the quality of the food did not really match the price for lunch. We’ll give it 3 snacks.
