Sev and I had an incredibly long day of walking in about 95 degree weather. I'm super proud of us. We went from Logan Circle -> Union Station -> Lincoln Memorial -> Jefferson Memorial -> Navy Yard Waterfront. This was probably about six miles, during a heat wave in the middle of the day. By the time we got to the waterfront, we were in desperate need of a snack.

District Doughnut fit the bill. It's a super small specialty donut shop with only a couple of chairs and tables in their outdoor space—and no indoor space—for snacking. We got two iced coffees and two specialty donuts. I got Peaches N Cream and Sev got the Hello Dolly. The cashier told Sev he made an excellent selection. He also offered to refill our water bottle because he didn't want us to be dehydrated. I just love when people are nice.

The total came to $17 so we had to savor every morsel. I thought mine was pretty good, although I think Sev's was better. The coffee was perfect of course for the moment and I was sad as mine seemed to heat up pretty quickly outside, a function of me drinking very slowly and it being really hot out.

It was fun sitting outside in the limited shade and watching people walk by. We noticed everyone was wearing Pikachu visors and staring at their phones. We decided to find out where they were coming from and found a Pokemon Go! event going on nearby and picked up a visor for ourselves as well.

Most things on the waterfront are sit-down restaurants with few really easy snacking options, but if you just need a sugary or caffeinated pick-me-up, District Doughnuts will get the job done.
