To celebrate the start of Amby's vacation we decided to go out for a beer in the old town of Sursee. The old town is over 700 years old and all the buildings are directly connected to each other to create a wall, which formed a critical part of the defense strategy of this medieval city. In the center of the old town is the town hall, a local landmark.

It was a really nice summer day in Sursee and everyone wanted to enjoy some time outside, so we could not find a table while we walked along the bars that are lined up on the side of the street. We already started going back when we found a nice table in front of the Stadtcafé Sursee. This is a hip coffee shop in the middle of the old town.

The server was attentive and friendly. We both ordered a beer and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Switzerland has strict laws when it comes to noise pollution so there was no music playing in all of the old town. I really like that because I prefer a good conversation to loud music, so I was happy. We even ordered a second beer and then went on a short walk down to the small stream running through town and around the city center.

Prices are always high in Switzerland. Each beer was about $5 for a small glass but I liked the service, it was really clean and the atmosphere was great. The Stadtcafé Sursee is a great place to enjoy an evening with friends.
