After eating at Palancar Beach Club we continued our drive around the island. It was really hot out, and it's important to stay hydrated while riding scooters or motorcycles in hot weather, as you won't feel very hot or sweaty thanks to the wind. So we dropped in Senor Iguana's for a drink when we intersected with the road back into town

I got a non-alcoholic pina colada, or a pinada, which was enormous. Sev got a Coca-Cola. My drink was perfectly fine, although perhaps more pineapple-y than coconut-y for my tastes. The view was excellent with a vista of the ocean waves and beach. There was only one other occupied table, and we could relax and enjoy the view. For this ocean side drink experience, I give 5 stars.

Senor Iguanas is on the "free" side of the island, not occupied by resorts, and the public can just go up to any of the multiple free parking areas and sit around the beach. The waves are a bit choppier here though and I wouldn't recommend swimming, but the water is beautiful.

It's quite a pretty ride around the island, and without stopping it would probably take about an hour to complete. Since the road is often close to the beach and water I was grateful for my sunglasses and also the COVID mask. One thing that was a little disappointing is, at this time, mask wearing is required on Cozumel under penalty of a 36 hour arrest. And the people on the island seem to be taking it seriously, with very high mask compliance. While this made walking around in the sweltering town area a bit unpleasant, it was great having the mask handy to protect from bugs, sand, and water droplets while riding in a scooter around the island.
