Fresh Fish at Ona Poké

I got lunch with a local friend at Ona Poké. Honestly this was probably the best poké I have ever had. Maybe other pokés in my life were just unremarkable, maybe I was really hungry. I’m not a poké expert. But I have to give Ona Poké five snacks. The ingredients were all fresh and the ambiance was really nice.

The Ona Poké set up is sort of Chipotle-style where you can mix and match your own bowl or order a suggested combo. I got the “Tuna Laguna” which came with black rice, tuna, avocado, pomegranates, mango, ginger, and a sesame sauce. I also added cilantro and sesame seeds. This totaled about $26 — pretty normal for Zurich lunch.
You can order it in a small or large size but large was only a couple dollars more so you might as well go for it. I also got their very nice hibiscus-mint homemade iced tea for an additional $6.

The restaurant was well-appointed and felt very welcoming and tidy. We chose to eat outside where there were a lot of tables available. There were a few bees buzzing around but they meant no harm.
I was impressed with how fresh everything tasted and how well the flavors complemented each other. I don’t normally choose fish but this was exactly the kind of fish I like. Definitely would go back here—there are three locations in Zurich and one in Geneva.
