I don’t know why but I was on the hunt for oysters all day. Gelmetti 1952 seemed like a great option close to the airbnb, and we were really impressed with how friendly and fun the atmosphere here was.

This is a tiny shop that specializes in seafood. We sat down around 9pm, a half hour before they closed, and they were super nice.

Yum. Yum.

They had just five oysters left so I bought all of them for about 4EUR each. I also had a glass of white wine for another 4EUR. Sev doesn’t like seafood and just wanted to hang out so he just got a coke.

The oysters were really good! They were pretty big and super fresh. I would’ve liked some hot sauce to go with them probably but everyone only spoke Italian and I didn’t want to bother them too much when they were so close to closing up for the night.

We sat at a table near the counter—the chef prepared the oysters right behind it. We sat at a table near the counter—the chef prepared the oysters right behind it.

Overall I got exactly what I came for and was very happy I could drop in for a bite! If you want some fresh seafood from friendly locals, Gelmetti 1952 is a great option.
