Getting Cozy at Cape Town Bed and Breakfast
9 Nov 2022 by Amby
I was looking for somewhere cute to stay in Cape Town and wanted to avoid the popular V&A Waterfront area—just to do something different. The Gardens neighborhood appealed to me for some of its Victorian-style houses, and I thought a bed and breakfast would be a cute and more personalized experience. I’m happy we picked Villa Bianca!
Villa Bianca is run by this guy named Chad. It’s a big Victorian house with a nice patio and a pool/bar area. In the morning Chad cooks breakfast and checks in with what you are doing that day, providing advice.
We stayed for three nights and had a great time for about $100/night per person. There are multiple room options and they’re all different. My friend Drew got the City Suite, which was bigger and had balcony access.
I got the Mountain Suite, which was smaller but had a nice window view of Table Mountain. Our rooms were just across the hall from each other so it was easy to hang out.
The daily breakfast was awesome, the dining room was very nicely appointed and Chad made us eggs, bacon, and tomatoes. We also had coffee, cereal, and yogurt with fresh fruit. Breakfast was served between 8-10am but we could ask it for earlier if we wanted.
The showers were really good and the beds got remade every day. Was so nice to go back to such a cozy spot after a long day of exploring. Each room also had a TV with local cable, a fridge with four bottles of water, and a hot water heater with tea, coffee, and cookies.
Chad was a great host and was available and accommodating any time! He told us to text him if we had any problems or questions, and although we never did, it was nice of him to offer. He also offered to make me french toast, at my request. Unfortunately I couldn't enjoy it though as I had to leave way too early in the morning.
I really liked Villa Bianca and would definitely consider staying here again!
