Ice Skating in Oerlikon

It’s getting colder in Zurich, and while it hasn’t snowed yet, it’s time to start doing some winter activities. Ice skating seems like a good place to start, and there happens to be a rink nearby—Kunsteisbahn Oerlikon.
It cost about $9 for entrance and $4 for skate rentals. The rink isn’t terribly big but the ice was really nice, dry, and easy to skate on. There were a lot of balancing devices available to use if you need them too, which you could just take (we didn’t need any).
To kill time when the Zamboni comes around there’s a cute little cafe at the rink. We ordered hot chocolates (about $4 each) which consisted of getting some hot milk from a machine and then adding powdered mix.
The rink is located outdoors, although there is a bigger indoor rink which was being used for competitions. The outdoor rink did get a little crowded with families by the time we left, but it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon and get some exercise in the crisp fall air.
