It is getting colder in Switzerland and the trees start to change color and loose their leaves but today was perfect weather and I used this opportunity to do a little hike and visite a newly build lookout. A public association decided 2018 to plan and build a tower on top of the Hasenberg (hare hill) in Mutschellen. The Hasenberg tower allows a view from Eastern Switzerland, across Central Switzerland to the Bernese Alps. The tower is the highlight of the Hasenberg recreational area, a popular excursion destination for the entire region. The tower has a height of 36 meters, the ascent is via 210 steps and 13 platforms. On days with good visibility, over 380 peaks of the Swiss Alps can be seen from the top platform.

After visiting the tower, I felt like having a dessert. There are several restaurants near the tower. I chose the Hotel Monardo. Thanks to the nice and warm weather, I was able to take a seat on the outside terrace and was served quickly. The waitress recommended the cake of the day, a chocolate brownie. I followed this recommendation and ordered a coffee with it. A perfect combination at the end of this little excursion.

The only point of criticism I have about the Monardo is the high price for coffee and cake. I paid a total of $12 for it, but that's just the way it is in Switzerland.
