Sev and I ate at many Lefkada restaurants—it’s a small town and we ate out twice a day. Marmita stands out as my favorite. We ate here three times!

Marmita is cafeteria-style and has a lot of different foods pre-prepared to choose from, which are then heated up for you.

This was my first experience with Greek lasagna—called Pastitsio. I got a huge portion and felt bad because I knew I wasn’t going to be able to finish all that food.

I was completely wrong. The Pastitsio was a flavor sensation. I always liked lasagna but this was really exceptional, especially because of the cheesy Béchamel layer on top. I loved it.

I was eating alone while Sev worked at the hotel, but called him so he could join me and get his own, which he also really enjoyed.

The next time we went I got the this other lasagna-type dish with carbonara flavors (the name escapes me). I’m not normally a fan of these kinds of flavors, but I thought I’d take a chance on Marmita. Sev got the spinach lasagna.

I was again delighted, and Sev liked it even more than the lasagna from the first time.

We ate here one more time and I went back to the Pastitsio, which was again a knockout.

The restaurant seems to be run by a man and wife, who are both very friendly and nice. I hope I have lasagna that good again. Five snacks!
