Passing Through to Claysburg Pizza
22 Dec 2021 by Amby
Superbabe Sev was good enough to drive us to Buffalo from D.C. again to help me move my stuff out of my apartment. It's a seven hour ride, so naturally we had to stop for pizza. Clarksburg Pizza offered everything we could want: small town vibes, great prices, and, of course, pizza.
I was immediately intrigued by these tasty-seeming cinnamon rolls on the counter and put one of those with our order of two small drinks and a 10" pepperoni pizza. I was shocked when the price for everything came to about $15. Every meal in D.C. for the both of us was clocking in around $25 minimum, so this was really exciting.
I was super hungry so started in on the cinnamon roll before we got the pizza. It was so good! Perfectly baked, nice and soft from outside to inside, a very tasty glaze—probably this is the best cinnamon roll I've had all year, and I'll even include all the ones from Juan Valdez in that ranking.
By the time the pizza came I was still pretty hungry—we hadn't eaten all day. I thought the pizza was great, pretty greasy with large pepperonis. We opted for the thin crust, which was the right move as it was sort of crispy. I asked Sev how he felt about it and he said "Was good. Was perfectly fine." Run, don't walk to this pizza joint, people.
As a bit of an environmentalist, one thing I noticed was this rather intriguing label on the disposable cups we used for the the soda, "Recyclable in the few communities with appropriate facilities for foam polystyrene recycling". I've never seen that before. I guess I appreciated the honesty!
