After a three-hour train ride from Zurich we were on the hunt for some pizza. We wanted to avoid the main places by the train station and on the Piazza Grande because we thought they might be too touristy. So we randomly walked around side streets until we found something that seemed good.

As it turns out quite a few places close between 2-4 but we were eventually successful in finding a pizza at Casa del Popolo.

There was plenty of outdoor seating available and we sat next to a pretty fountain. The waiter was really friendly and was ready to take our orders in French, German, Italian or English.

I got a prosciutto and mushroom pizza ($24) and a beer ($6). It wasn’t the greatest pizza of my life, I thought it was a bit too salty, but I enjoyed eating it and sitting in the plaza after a long travel.

Sev had a salami and olive pizza and liked his a lot more than I liked mine. I also thought his tasted a lot better.

The prices seemed about average for the area and we left satisfied and energized for more walking. If you want an exquisite dining experience Casa del Popolo is probably not for you. But if you just want a pizza and chill, I thought it was reasonably priced and I liked the location. We give it 4 snacks.
