Towards the end of our Locarno day trip we were really tired and sweaty from walking, so the lake was looking really tempting. We headed over to the Lake View swimming area to cool off and relax before taking the train back to Zurich.

That view tho. That view tho.

Lake View is about a 20 minute walk from the train station, and along the way you pass Lido Locarno, which is an indoor swimming area. So don’t go there by mistake.

Lake View had an outdoor dining area and bar where you could order food and drinks, although we didn’t get anything. The water is very shallow most of the way so it seemed great for kids. It got a bit deeper towards the back end where you could jump off a raft.

There were also many cute ducks quacking around eating people’s discarded chips. The view of the mountains was really pretty and it was a great place to chill. The entrance fee is $4 but after 5pm it's free.
