After two weeks in Playa del Carmen we went to Mexico City. We rented a nice little Airbnb apartment in the Roma Norte neighborhood. After multiple months in hostels it felt really nice to have an apartment to ourselves. I liked the area we stayed at from the beginning for multiple reasons. It is really clean and it feels really safe, there are multiple small parks nearby and in the parks are special playgrounds for dogs. This increases the dog density in the area significantly, which is a great thing for me as a dog lover.

Another great thing about this area are the street food taco places. Within a five minutes walk we can reach at least 4 different places to eat tacos. So on our first day here we just walked up to the closest one and ordered three tacos each by pointing at what we liked. They filled the tacos with rice and meat and we could add the sauces of our choice, onions, beans and other things.

We ate right at the food truck and Amby paid for the meal. At first we thought she only paid for one person, so I tried to pay as well, but the chef told me that Amby already paid everything. One taco was 10 pesos which is $0.50. We both really liked the food and we were full after 3 tacos each.

The whole lunch only took us about 15 minutes, was delicious and super affordable. If this sounds good to you, go and try the street tacos.
