We were in Bogota for about 36 hours. This was also a rather politically fraught time in Colombia where there were many anti-government protestors so we couldn't do standard sight-seeing like the Salt Cathedral as we feared protestors would shut down the highway and delay us for a few hours (which is what happened when we traveled from Villa de Leyva to Bogota).

So didn't have too much time or opportunity to snack and see things. But we gave it our best and managed to have a few good meals. Sev, a cat lover, chose Gato Negro for our last dinner in Colombia.

Which to eat first? Which to eat first?

We were staying at the Selina in the stylish El Chico neighborhood and Gato Negro was located a short walk away, next to Parque 93. This park is really cute and nice to walk around. It was kind of cool outside so we sat on the balcony next to a heating device.

One thing on the menu immediately caught our eye: Picada Mixta Entretragos, an enormous amount and variety of food for 65 Colombian Pesos, or about $17. This came with five different kinds of meat and sausage, four sides, and three salsas. It was amazing. Everything was great and there was plenty of food for both me and Sev (although we did finish it all).

We came away feeling full and really happy with our selection. Sometimes basing a restaurant choice on a favorite animal is a winning strategy for an easy snack.
