Two Flights in One Night
2 Dec 2021 by Amby
We were driving back to D.C. from Buffalo and decided to see my cousin for a night in Pittsburgh. With just one evening on our hands, we visited Carson Street Deli and Craft Beer Bar, which was doing a Black Friday drink special.
Right away I loved the ambiance of this bar, which was both cozy and cool. I could tell that this is a favorite place with locals as a lot of people at the different tables seemed to know each other and were very friendly.
The drink specials were really good, a flight of four stouts for $12. The individual beers were reasonably sized and the selection was excellent. They offered two different flights, and Sev and I shared both.
Sev isn’t a fan of dark beers but they are always my favorite and I really liked everything. There was even a white stout which I didn’t even know was possible but was quite tasty.
This place also had a huge sandwich selection. I got The Beast ($10.75), which had roast beef, cheddar, onions, bell peppers, and sriracha mayo. I quite enjoyed it, except I probably should have ordered it without the bell peppers as I don’t generally like bell peppers.
Sev got the Sicilian ($10.75), which had prosciutto, salami, capicola, red peppers, and cheese. He said "everything was perfect, but I would prefer it more if the bell peppers were warm." Apparently we both have problems with bell peppers.
After two flights of beer, a sandwich, and lots of friendly conversation I was pretty tired and headed home around 8pm. Overall I was really impressed with the food and atmosphere, and hope to return to Pittsburgh again to check out more of this charming and pretty city. Five snacks!
