Wintry Mountain Snacks

Sev, Sev’s mom, and I visited a restaurant in the mountains, close-ish to the city of Lucerne. Although there was a cable care available to go up, we decided to do the one hour-ish walk instead, enjoying some very nice views along the way.
I have to say I’ve probably only gotten more out of shape in recent months as I’ve spent more time indoors during the winter. Although the walk was not very difficult, I was still pretty out of breath towards the end (unlike Sev and his mom).
The views of the mountain were a great reward though, and only got better the higher we hiked.
At the end of the trail there’s a restaurant, Alpgschwänd, with nice wood interiors. They specialize in Central Swiss cuisine, but we just wanted drinks and snacks.
I opted for the vieille prune sorbet, which was ice cream with this plum liqueur, while Sev and his mom each got the iced coffee. Everyone really liked what they got. Each they cost about $10.
Afterwards we decided to take the cable car down, which was both fun and spared me the pain and embarrassment of walking/falling down a snowy mountain trail. The one-way ticket cost $ 7 each.
The restaurant also has a hotel, which might suit those looking for a cozy mountaintop experience.
Overall was a really nice way to spend an afternoon! Five snacks.
