Zurich’s Wild West
4 Jan 2023 by Amby
Bry and I went to the Anthropology Museum near Oerlikon, and like the red-blooded Americans we are, headed over to the Wild West Steakhouse about a four minute walk away.
While I loved the decorations, the burgers were not blowing my mind. We say to our readers: Go for the American vibe, but maybe order something other than the burgers.
Bry and I both got the Argentina Gaucho burger, which was topped with guacamole, tobasco, and onion rings. Both burgers came with fries for 18CHF. The menu said the burger would be spicy, but as always in Switzerland, it was not actually spicy.
They were pretty good, but what was weird is they didn’t ask us how we wanted them cooked, like they would at a similarly high-quality American burger joint. I always go for medium-rare, but the burgers came out medium. Ho-hum.
Wild West clearly specializes in steaks, which run from 50CHF to over 100CHF. The steaks might genuinely be worth it and I would be curious to try those next time.
They also have a daily menu which is not as expensive (between 16-23CHF) and also looks interesting. I would definitely try those options before going for a burger again.
Based on the vibes and the burgers, we give Wild West 3 snacks, but are open to giving it another chance!
